This past Friday, Riverview Community High School senior student-athlete Katie Patterson signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and soccer-playing career at Indiana University-South Bend next school year.

A dual-sport standout, Patterson last spring as a junior led the Riverview girls varsity soccer team with 18 goals to go along with a handful of assists. She was named second-team all-News-Herald after helping the Pirates win nine of their final 12 games following a 2-5 start to the season.

Patterson has also been a fixture on the girls varsity basketball team for all four of her years at Riverview. In fact, she was named to the all-News-Herald team in each of her first three seasons, including first-team honors as a junior.

As of Jan 29, Patterson in 10 of the Bucs’ 12 games this season leads the team with just a tick over 12 points per contest.
