After opening up its MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase slate with a loss vs Calumet on Friday, the Riverview Gabriel Richard ice hockey squad returned right back to game action Saturday evening for another showcase game at the Kennedy Recreation Center in Trenton.

Up next on the docket for Richard was a Northville team that came in already with 15 wins on the season. Like GR, Saturday was the second showcase game in as many days for Northville, who was handed a 3-1 loss by Flint Powers Catholic the day prior.

A close and low-scoring game through two periods opened up considerably in the third thanks in large part to the local Pioneers, who pulled away for a big 5-2 win over the Mustangs of Northville.
