Fresh off a big victory over Detroit Catholic Central in a MLK Day showcase game earlier in the week, the Romulus Summit Academy North boys basketball team was back in action Thursday evening.

Jumping back into Charter School Conference play, Summit returned to its friendly confines at ‘The Peak’ and welcomed in traditional Division 1 power and conference newcomer Hamtramck. Already a battle-tested group, Hamtramck came in sporting a 9-4 mark on the season with an opponents’ collective win percentage approaching the .600 mark.

Fittingly, it was a fast and physical game from start to finish between the two conference title hopefuls. But a late second half push was the difference for the D2 top-ranked Dragons from Summit, who held off the visiting Cosmos for a 47-35 win.
