A pair of local girls basketball teams with matching 3-3 records held their first of two scheduled Huron League meetings on Monday night when Flat Rock traveled over to Grosse Ile.

It was the first conference game in about a month for both teams.

Flat Rock came in looking to bounce back from a tough 40-25 loss at home vs non-league foe Chelsea a week ago on Jan 6. Grosse Ile meanwhile entered with a three-game win streak overall after previously dropping their first three games of the campagin.

What was a tightly-contested, low-scoring battle early eventually saw the visiting Rams from Flat Rock, behind a big third quarter, open up and pull away for a 47-38 win over the hometown Red Devils.
