The Huron League resumed its high school boys basketball season on Tuesday with a full slate of games. One matchup saw Riverview traveling to take on New Boston Huron.
It’s been a strong start to the season so far for Riverview, who came in fresh off a 52-44 win over Monroe in a showcase game down at Wayne State University on Jan 3. Meanwhile, it has been a bit of a longer layoff for Huron, who last played on Dec 27 when they squandered a lead late vs Onsted at the annual Airport Holiday Showcase.
Perhaps aided somewhat by rust on the side of Huron, the defending conference champion Pirates from Riverview asserted themselves and improved to 8-1 with a convincing 68-44 win over the host Chiefs.
