The Creative Art Society is once again calling on Downriver artists for its Fall Festival of Arts Fine Art Juried Art Show.
The event and exhibition will be Oct. 5-23 at the Downriver Council of the Arts, 81 Chestnut Street, Wyandotte. Open to artists 18 years or older. Original artwork and crafts (prints permitted for postcards and note cards and unframed artwork). No commercial molds, patterns or kits, no resale of purchased items. Artwork will not be accepted without a label with the artist name, address, contact info, title, price and medium.
No changes accepted after submission. All work must be for sale. The committee reserves the right to reject unprepared entries and questionable work. Tables will be provided for small items (i.e. jewelry, sculpture, glass, etc.). Artists are responsible for their own insurance. Bins will be provided for the Unframed Matted artwork section of the show.
Entry requirements and limitations
• Fine Art entries: Artists may enter three hanging pieces of artwork and/or three-dimensional pieces under 50 lbs. All hanging artwork and 2-D AND 3-D artwork will be limited to 160 inches in circumference (including matte and frame). Hanging artwork must be framed, wired from hooks at each side and ready for hanging. No saw tooth hangers allowed. 3-dimensional pieces must be prepared for proper display. Pictures (larger than 16×20) must be framed with plexiglass (excluding pastels.)
• Non-Juried: Artwork must be no larger than 36″ inches including the frame in perimeter.
• New section added: Three dimensional assemblage art made from found, reused or handmade items not to exceed 4 feet. Three-dimensional pieces must be prepared for proper display.
• Unframed Matted Artwork: All Unframed Matted Artwork not to exceed 72 inches in circumference must be in plastic sleeves.
• Artwork will be displayed in bins.
• No copies or prints of Fine Art entries
Entry procedure
• Complete the attached entry form(s) and mail with a non-refundable fee of $35 for non-members and $25 for members. (For the Juried Fine Art Exhibition, Unframed Matted Art, and Non-Juried Art.) Make check/money order payable to Creative Art Society Entries must be postmarked no later than Saturday Sep. 20. Mail to: Kris Stanek, 13396 Pullman Street Street, Southgate, MI. 48195. • Delivery of Artwork: Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. – noon to the Downriver Council for the Arts, located at 81 Chestnut, Wyandotte (between Biddle and First St.)
• Pick Up of Artwork Not Accepted: Saturday, Sept. 27, from 1-2 p.m. All artists must report for jury results and/or pick-up declined artwork at the Downriver Council of the Arts. (Calls will be made to artists if artwork is not accepted between 1-2 p.m. (to the phone number listed on the application).

• Fall festival of the arts hours: Tuesday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Wednesday, noon. – 2:30 p.m.; Thursday noon – 8 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
• Artists demonstrations: Saturday, Oct. 18, noon – 3 p.m.
• Pick up of artwork: Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m. – noon
