Raymond P. Sisan OBITUARY

Raymond P. Sisan, 87, of Southgate, Michigan, passed away on December 30, 2025, at Rivergate Healthcare Center. Ray served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis and spent 41 years as a field engineer at Burroughs/Unisys. A graduate of Southwestern High School, Ray continued learning throughout his life, from extended technical training at work to decades of studying Polish and following science/health news. He was also a skilled, self-taught carpenter/handyman who finished the upstairs of his family’s home, built a two story shed, and tackled countless smaller projects and repairs. Yet he’ll be remembered most fondly for his lighter side — his arsenal of colorful nicknames, nonsensical idioms, singsong phrases and whimsical exclamations that kept everyday life slightly off-axis. Ray was married 51 years to his wife, Mary, who survives him. He is also survived by his sons, Dan (Heather) Sisan and Tom Sisan, and his granddaughters, Hannah and Fiona. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church,1540 Riverbank St., Lincoln Park, MI 48146. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 12:00 p.m.
