If you plan to ask 14-year-old Tyler about some of the things he likes, you’d better plan for enough time to hear his lengthy and interesting list!
“I love sports, especially playing basketball and watching the Lions,” Tyler says. “And I love to draw, color, and paint. I like playing all kinds of games: Mario Brothers, Monopoly, Roblox, chess…and I like math, because it applies to many areas of life. I especially like multiplication. I love jokes! I’m good at telling funny jokes.”
“Tyler tells me a new joke every time I see him,” his worker smiles. “He is a great kid: super-kind, caring, and loving. He enjoys so many things and can just pull the coolest stuff out of his head! For example, he has a love of luxury cars, and he matches different makes of cars to people’s personalities. He’s very fun and insightful!
“One of his special qualities is his protective nature. He is a good friend and is really protective of his peers and anyone he cares for, even if it is not his role. He is quick to stand up and say, ‘That’s not right; that’s not respectful.’
“He’s also not afraid to tell you how he thinks or feels. He can advocate for himself in a healthy way. He’s a good, sweet kid and is not shy. He’s active, curious, and has a playful personality.”
Tyler likes school and enjoys receiving good grades. He’s a good reader and good student with hopes of being in the military or becoming a basketball player as well as a volunteer at homeless shelters.
He would like to visit California “to see the ocean, all of the nice houses on the beach, see the mountains, and watch the sunset on the beach.”
But Tyler’s main desire is for a forever family.
“He desperately wants a family of his own,” his worker says. “It really pulls on your heartstrings.”
Tyler’s worker states that he needs a family who is able to care for him, providing him with one-on-one support and guidance as he continues to learn new skills in life. Additionally, he needs a family who is willing to spend time with him doing activities that he enjoys and who would support his desire to play team sports. Also, Tyler loves animals and would love to be part of a family with pets.
“I would love a family with two dogs,” Tyler declares, “especially if they were Huskies!
“I like everything about families and what it means to have fun and to have people who care about me as much as I care about them.”
