The Utica-based USPBL has announced a 10-year naming rights partnership with United Wholesale Mortgage.

The home ballpark of the USPBL will be renamed UWM Field, and the league will rebrand its name to USPBL powered by Mortgage Matchup.

The stadium’s previous name was Jimmy John’s Field.

“UWM has been an incredible partner since day one, and this next step represents an exciting evolution of that relationship,” said USPBL owner Andy Appleby.

Former Michigan State basketball player Mat Ishbia is CEO of UWM, which is headquartered in Pontiac, and he also is majority owner of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns and WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury.

The USPBL has been operating as a professional independent baseball league since 2016.

Teams competing in 2025 were the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers, Eastside Diamond Hoppers, Utica Unicorns and Westside Woolly Mammoths.

The 2026 season begins on May 15.

In addition to the summer USPBL schedule, the stadium has been used for high school graduations and sporting events as well as social events since it opened.
