“We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media,” the “Today Show” host said.

“As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk,” she continued. “However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

Authorities believe Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, was the last person to see their mother prior to her disappearance. She said they went out to dinner with her husband, Tommaso Cioni, on Saturday and that they dropped her back off at her home in Tucson between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m.

Concern for the 84-year-old Guthrie matriarch began to swirl the following day, when she did not show up for church on Sunday as usual. According to reports, blood was found during a subsequent search of her home, while all of her personal belongings — including her wallet, cellphone and car — were still on the scene.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department believe Guthrie was taken “possibly in the middle of the night, and that includes possible kidnapping or abduction.”

In the days since, several news outlets have received ransom notes that could be connected to the case. The letters, which demand millions in bitcoin for Guthrie’s safe return, have not been verified by police.

“Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman,” Savannah added. “You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley He is with you. Everyone is looking for you, mommy, everywhere. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again. We speak to you every moment and we pray without ceasing and we rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again. We love you.”

Savannah so far has skipped her “Today” show hosting duties this week, opting instead to remain in Arizona amid the ongoing investigation, and she will not host the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Italy as planned. Instead, Mary Carillo will be stepping in.

As of Thursday, no person of interest has been identified and an investigation into the matter is ongoing. The FBI said it was also assisting in the search efforts.

“We’re following all leads we have. We’ve got hundreds of leads, and it’s from you that we produced those leads,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters. “We are sharing all of our leads with the FBI; they are helping us in evaluating them.”

Zecca was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, according to a statement from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. He’s facing counts of using a firearm while under the influence and aggravated manslaughter, which comes with a potential punishment of life in prison.

The deadly gunfire erupted on July 19, during a a UFC watch party at an apartment in Naples, Fla.

Zecca was drinking alcohol for hours before he turned up with his son, Anthony, at his friend’s gathering on Sumter Grove Way, the sheriff’s office said. There, he drank more alcohol and smoked marijuana while he watched the UFC fight.

“Zecca repeatedly handled a firearm in the child’s presence, practicing drawing it from his waistband and dry-firing,” authorities said. “The firearm had initially been rendered safe by removing the magazine and clearing a live round from the chamber.”

At some point, though, “the magazine was reinserted and a round chambered, and Zecca discharged a single shot, fatally striking the child.”

Zecca’s blood alcohol level was approximately 0.116 at the time of the shooting, according to authorities. The legal limit in Florida is 0.08. 

“This case underscores that devastating tragedy that can result from mixing firearms, alcohol and drugs,” Sheriff Rambosk said. “Our hearts are with everyone affected by this loss.”

In wake of the shooting, Zecca was placed on a psychiatric hold after his family said they were worried he would try and hurt himself if left alone.

Zecca’s stepfather, Dog, whose legal name is Duane Chapman, married Francie Chapman in 2021. Zecca is Francie’s son from a previous marriage

Chapman’s attorney, Joseph Lesniak, told TMZ the shooting “remains a devastating family tragedy.”

He continued: “We believe Greg loved his son deeply, and that this was a tragic accident — one that has left many lives permanently changed, especially Anthony’s, and Greg’s.”

Trump made the comment Tuesday on Fox News’ “The Will Cain Show” while addressing the ongoing unrest in Minneapolis, where both Good and Pretti were fatally shot by federal agents this month.

“Bottom line, it was terrible,” he said when asked about Pretti’s death.

“Both of them were terrible; the other was terrible too,” Trump continued, referring to Good as well. “And I’m not sure about his parents, but I know her parents were big Trump fans, makes me feel bad anyway. But I guess you could say even worse, they were tremendous Trump people, Trump fans.”

The president went on to speculate that Good “was maybe radicalized, maybe not.”

“I don’t know, but I hate to see it,” he said.

Trump learned that Good’s father, Timothy Ganger, was a “big supporter” during an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil on Jan. 13. The sit-down came nearly a week after 37-year-old Good, a mother and poet, was fatally shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in a residential neighborhood south of downtown Minneapolis.

The incident has resulted in ongoing protests over the federal government’s deployment of ICE agents in the area, and demonstrations have only increased after Pretti was shot by federal agents on Saturday.

The 37-year-old VA hospital nurse was killed as officers conducted a “targeted operation” against an “illegal alien wanted for violent assault,” according to the Department of Homeland Security. The White House alleged Pretti, who was licensed to carry a weapon, was armed at the time and brandished his firearm, but video evidence so far has contradicted that claim.

Trump on Tuesday also confirmed he plans to “deescalate” immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis, but clarified that the move was not a “pullback.”

“I don’t think it’s a pullback,” Trump said on Fox News. “It’s a little bit of a change. We’re going to deescalate a little bit.”

The gunfire occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a home in the Duncannon Borough, according to court documents recently obtained by WGAL. When officers responded to the residence around 3:20 a.m., they discovered 42-year-old Douglas Dietz dead in the bedroom he shared with his wife. According to the affidavit it is connected to his son’s room by a closet.

The night prior, the family celebrated the boy’s birthday, singing him “Happy Birthday” before turning in for the night.

Douglas’ wife Jillian Dietz told police that she awoke to the loud noise and a fiery smell. She then tried to wake her husband, only to realize that he was heavily bleeding. The boy then allegedly shouted, “Daddy’s dead,” according to WGAL. Authorities at the scene also said they heard the boy tell his mother, “I killed Daddy,”

The boy also allegedly told investigators he got mad at his father when he said he had to go to bed for the night. He said he found a key to his father’s safe while searching for his Nintendo Switch, which had previously been confiscated. Authorities said he additionally confessed to “removing the gun from the safe, loading bullets into it and walking over to his father’s side of the bed,” according to court documents.” He pulled back the hammer and fired the gun at his father.”

When police asked him what he believed would happen, he said that “he was mad, and he had not thought about that.”

The boy has been charged with criminal homicide, and he is being held at the Perry County Prison.

Michael Dickinson, 69, suffered fatal injuries after he somehow became trapped between the payment window and his car at the fast food chain’s store in Grand Island, some 24 miles southwest of Lincoln, local authorities said.

“It appears the deceased opened the door to further reach out of the window for payment purposes,” Grand Island Police Division Chief Dean Elliott told KSNB-TV. “We’re not sure if the vehicle lurched forward or what happened, but he became pinned between the door frame and the drive-thru window counter.”

Dickinson was rushed to the CHI St. Francis emergency room, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A McDonald’s employee was also injured trying to help Dickinson. Elliot said the fast food work climbed through the passenger door of Dickinson’s vehicle in a bid to free him, but was ultimately unsuccessful. He was also taken to the hospital, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

On a GoFundMe page, Dickinson’s family remembered him as “a devoted family man who cared deeply for those closest to him” and a “skilled and hardworking mechanic.”

“Michael took pride in his work and had a gift for fixing what was broken. It reflected who he was—reliable, practical, and dedicated,” they wrote. “Though his life was cut short, Michael’s love, loyalty, and kindness will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.”

An investigation into the matter is ongoing, but Elliot described it as “100% a freak accident.”

Brutus is believed to be the first detainee to die at Delaney Hall since the troubled, privately run detention center opened in May. It’s since been met with scrutiny and outrage as conditions inside — including insufficient meals, lack of drinking water and freezing temperatures — remain hazardous, critics claims.

Brutus suddenly fell ill shortly after arriving at the facility on Dec. 11, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement on Friday. Emergency services were called and he was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he died from “suspected natural causes” the following day.

ICE said he did not appear in distress when being admitted to Delaney Hall and had no medical history of cardiovascular issues.

An Eyes on ICE volunteer who was visiting another inmate at the time said she overheard a person on a guard’s walkie talkie call for an ambulance, saying that someone in intake was having a seizure.

“Immediately afterwards, guards were instructed to switch their devices to a different channel,” said Melissa Munoz, who uses an alias to continue visiting detainees without facing retribution.

Witnesses also said the ambulance taking Brutus to the hospital was delayed for “five life-saving minutes” at the Delaney Hall gate as employees prioritized a van of newly detained people coming into the facility.

“I’m furious that this has happened,” said Alison Perkon, another volunteer with Eyes on ICE, who regularly pickets outside Delaney Hall. “I have said repeatedly that someone was going to die here soon. … (Last week), that fear was realized.”

Politicians and advocacy groups are now demanding immediate answers on what happened, as well as why it took a week for ICE to announce Brutus’ “disturbing” death. ICE’s own policy requires the agency to inform the public of a detainee’s death by posting a news release on its website within two business days.

“We’ve heard about ICE detainees across the country being denied treatment and medication. I want to know exactly what happened, the circumstances of this individual’s confinement and treatment, and what care he did or did not receive,” said New Jersey Rep. LaMonica McIver, who was arrested by federal agents in May while attempting to conduct a legally protected inspection of Delaney Hall.

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker said that he for months has “condemned the inhumane conditions at Delaney Hall and the mismanagement of this facility by its private operator, GEO Group,” adding that he opposes “private detention centers in any form.”

“The Department of Homeland Security’s continued refusal to comply with appropriate oversight of this facility and the GEO Group’s abuses are totally unacceptable,” Booker said in a statement. “There must be a clear accounting of what happened in this tragedy, and Delaney Hall must be closed so that this stain can be removed from our community of Newark.”

According to ICE, Brutus was undocumented and entered the United States on June 20, 2023 by way of the Hidalgo Port of Entry in Texas. He eventually settled in New Jersey, where he was arrested by the Elizabeth Police Department on criminal mischief charges four times between July 2023 and Nov. 19, 2025.

Upon his most recent arrest, immigration officials lodged a detainer, alerting local police they intended to take Brutus into federal custody.

He was released despite this, but was once again taken into custody on two counts of criminal mischief on Nov. 28, and then again released. He was finally captured by ICE on Dec. 11, the day before his death.

Brutus was one of four men detained by ICE to die in custody across the country between Dec. 12 and Dec 15. The others were 39, 46 and 56 years old, and were being held in detention facilities in Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Their deaths were similarly announced past the two-day deadline.

So far in 2025, at least 32 people have died in ICE custody, according to the agency’s Death Notifications. That figure makes it the deadliest year for detainees in more than two decades.

“PRESENTING: MUSE FILMS, my new production company,” she wrote on X. “MELANIA, the film, exclusively in theaters worldwide” on Jan. 30.

The announcement was posted alongside a 10-second clip revealing the company’s logo: a sleek, silver, superhero-style “M” set against a black backdrop.

It’s unclear what, if any, role Muse Films is playing in the documentary, though Melania is serving as an executive producer.

While the first lady often avoids the political spotlight, the upcoming film has promised to offer “unprecedented access” to the 20 days leading up to Trump’s second inauguration in January, according to Amazon MGM Studios.

“Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition and reenters public life with her family,” reads a logline for the documentary. “With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations and never-before-seen environments, ‘MELANIA’ showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.”

Amazon MGM Studios reportedly shelled out $40 million for exclusive rights to the film, making it one of the largest known licensing deals for a political documentary to date. The agreement, first reported by Puck News earlier this year, is said to include a two-to-three-episode follow-up docuseries about Melania’s life as she bounces between New York, Florida and Washington, D.C.

The deal was reportedly hammered out shortly after Trump was reelected. It also came around the same time that Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, announced the company would donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund.

The film, set to have a limited theatrical release before it hits Amazon Prime, is helmed by disgraced director Brett Ratner, who retreated from Hollywood during the height of the #MeToo movement after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct.

Ratner has stayed largely out of the public eye in the years since, but has maintained ties to several Trump administration figures and allies. Steven Mnuchin, the Treasury secretary during Trump’s first term, was in business with Ratner on RatPac-Dune Entertainment until he sold his stake in the film financing firm in 2017.

Ismail Ali was last seen leaving his job at Gulam Food Stores in the city of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England the afternoon of May 29, 2020, BBC News reported. His disappearance sparked an intense search, but authorities uncovered no sign of the missing man. He was 46 years old at the time, and investors had long believed he disappeared under suspicious circumstances.

Then, on Wednesday, Ali “turned up at the police station,” telling officers that he was “safe and well,” police said in an update on Thursday.

“Officers are working to understand the full circumstances surrounding his disappearance,” it said. “Mr. Ali’s family have been notified that he has been found safe and well and is being safeguarded whilst necessary checks are being made.”

His reappearance comes just days after authorities announced the arrests of five people — three women aged 47, 54 and 55 and two men aged 27 and 51 — in connection with Ali’s presumed murder. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Despite Ali’s return, all five suspects remain in custody. A spokesperson for the police department told People they “remain on police bail in relation to money laundering offences.”

“Following the arrests on Monday, house searches were carried out at three properties and a large amount of cash was seized,” the spokesperson said, adding that “enquiries will remain ongoing for some time into the money laundering offences.”

Few other details were provided.

According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, Escobedo died on Tuesday of cardiogenic shock, a rare condition in which the heart is no longer able to pump enough blood to supply the body, depriving vital organs of oxygen. It can be caused by a “large or severe heart attack,” but not everyone who has a heart attack gets cardiogenic shock, per the Mayo Clinic.

Vasodilatory shock, disseminated intravascular coagulation — a blood clotting disorder that can cause organ damage and uncontrollable bleeding — and alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver were also listed as underlying causes. Other conditions contributing to Escobedo’s death included sepsis, graft versus host disease, immunosuppression, chronic kidney disease and pneumonia, according to the document.

Escobedo, leader of Cleto and the Cletones, was 59 years old.

Kimmel announced his death earlier this week in an emotional Instagram post.

“Early this morning, we lost a great friend, father, son, musician and man,” Kimmel wrote on Tuesday. “To say that we are heartbroken is an understatement. Cleto and I have been inseparable since I was 9 years old. The fact that we got to work together every day is a dream neither of us could ever have imagined would come true.”

Kimmel also paid homage to Escobedo during a tearful monologue on his late-night show, calling it the “hardest” one he’s ever had to deliver. He also canceled the following shows on both Wednesday and Thursday night.

Escobedo and Kimmel first met after the Brooklyn-born host moved to Las Vegas at the age of 9. Escobedo lived down the street, and the duo became fast friends.

Escobedo grew up in a musical family — his father, Cleto Escobedo Jr., is also in his band — and he began performing at a young age. He went on to have his own successful career leading the Cletones, touring with Paula Abdul, Marc Anthony and others, before Kimmel came calling.

Escobedo led Kimmel’s band since 2003, when the ABC host landed the late-night gig. Kimmel personally vouched for his friend to get the job when negotiating with executives.

In addition to his father, Escobedo is survived by his wife, Lori, and their two children.

Relatives found Zachary Jackson fatally shot on June 17, 1993 inside his home in Hayward, about 30 miles from San Francisco, according to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities have said they believe Jackson was killed days earlier, on or around June 14. He was 30 years old.

Despite an investigation, no arrests were made in the case and it eventually went cold.

During a press conference on Monday, Alameda County Sheriff’s Detective Pat Smyth said officers initially probed the killing as a possible dispute between Jackson and his landlord. In the end, however, they arrested 56-year-old Veronica Fonseca — the mother of Jackson’s children, who were 1 and 4 years old at the time of the deadly shooting — and Anthony Fox, 54, her boyfriend from 1993.

“We believe they were both there and that Mr. Fox was the one who pulled the trigger,” Smyth said.

The former couple is facing charges including murder and first-degree residential burglary in connection with Jackson’s death.

Police reportedly interviewed Fonseca on several occasions following the shooting, but they uncovered no evidence that would suggest she played a role. Smyth said that changed in 2014, when an anonymous tipster phoned in and told investigators that Fonseca and Fox were responsible for Jackson’s death.

Investigators then hit a “roadblock” that stalled the case for years, Smyth said, though he did not provide specifics.

It wasn’t until October of this year that authorities were able to track down several corroborating witnesses, leading to the charges against both Fonseca and Fox.
