Spirit Airlines Inc. will add five seasonal destinations from Detroit starting in mid-April: Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Philadelphia, and two North Carolina cities, Charlotte and Raleigh.

That will bring the budget airline’s list of destinations out of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to 17. Spirit has previously offered service to those five cities on a seasonal basis.

“We’re bringing back five popular destinations for Motor City travelers to plan a spring getaway,” Andrea Lusso, vice president of network planning at Spirit, said in a statement.

Service to Boston and Philadelphia starts on April 15, while flights to Dallas, Charlotte and Raleigh begin one day later. The Boston and Philadelphia routes will run once per day, the Dallas route five times per week, and the Raleigh and Charlotte routes four times per week.

Flights can be booked now, a Spirit announcement said.
