Two men have been charged with racketeering for a series of thefts from parked work trucks throughout the metro Detroit area following a multi-jurisdictional investigation, according to Macomb prosecutors.<\/p>\n

Andrew Walker, 27, of Detroit, and Deanote Lindsey, 27, of Harper Woods, were formally charged in recent days with operating a criminal enterprise for their alleged systematic efforts and armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon for an alleged incident, said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido.<\/p>\n

Walker and Lindsey allegedly targeted at least 17 work trucks parked in residential driveways and commercial parking lot at various times of the day throughout Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, Lucido said in a press release. During one incident, when a victim attempted to prevent the suspects from fleeing with stolen property, one of the men pointed a handgun at the victim, Lucido said.<\/p>\n

Lucido commended the work of the agencies involved in the case including the Macomb Auto Theft Task Squad, Macomb FBI Violent Crimes Taskforce, Troy Special Investigations Unit, and Clinton Township, St. Clair Shores, Roseville and Warren police departments.<\/p>\n

\u201c(The) coordinated efforts appear to have removed two alleged violent and brazen criminals from the streets and disrupted an alleged criminal enterprise,\u201d Lucido said in the release.<\/p>\n

Walker was arraigned last Thursday and Lindsey was arraigned Monday, both in front of Magistrate Ryan Zemke at the 41B District Court in Clinton Township. Zemke set Walker\u2019s bond at $50,000 cash or surety and Lindsey\u2019s bond at $500,000 cash or surety, the prosecutor said. The defendants must wear GPS tethers if released from custody.<\/p>\n

The defendants are scheduled for a Feb. 9 probable cause conference before Judge Sebastian Lucido.<\/p>\n

Armed robbery carries a maximum penalty of life and the criminal enterprise charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
